갤러리팩토리

갤러리 팩토리는 2002년 12월 삼청동에서 새로운 전시공간으로 첫 발을 내디딘 후
예술의 장르적 구분을 뛰어넘는 새로운 시도와 워크샵과 관객참여형 프로그램을 끊임없이 개발해 나가고 있습니다.
2005년 가을 경복궁 서문방향에 위치한 창성동으로 이전한 후 현대미술의 전시에 초점을 맞추어 국내외 작가와 작품을 소개하는
다양한 주제기획전시를 진행해 오고 있습니다.

gallery FACTORY since 2002
FACTORY, an art space and art consulting office, was founded in 2002 as FACTORY Arts & Crafts, and was primarily
dedicated to introducing different genres in fine art and design as well as performing arts and developing original design products
conceived by different artists.

In 2005, FACTORY moved its location from Samchung-dong to Hyoja-dong, neighboring the Blue House and Gyeongbok Palace,
changed its direction more toward presentation and interpretation of the work of young and upcoming artists in all media and
development of audience participation through workshop programs and gallery talks.
FACTORY seeks to be a vital cultural resource for the City of Seoul and to serve constituencies beyond Seoul with
its educational programs, project-based public art projects, publications and international exchage programs.





전시

갤러리 팩토리는 기획전시 공간으로 한 해에 약 7-10회의 기획전을 기획위원들과 공동 기획합니다.
다양한 작가들의 포트폴리오와 제안서를 수시로 접수한 후 일년에 2회의 기획회의를 통하여 팩토리의 전시방향과
맞는 작가를 선정하여 전시를 통해 소개합니다.
갤러리 팩토리의 기획전시는 팩토리이머징아티스트쇼(Factory Emerging Artist Show), 주제기획전, 디자인 오늘 문화 기획전
국제교류전, 팩토리 아티스트쇼 등의 전시로 진행됩니다.

Exhibition
FACTORY, an exhibition space & art consulting office, holds average 10 exhibitions per year with a close discussion with
its planning committee. FACTORY receives artists’ portfolios and exhibition proposals on a rolling basis throughout the year, and
introduces emerging as well as established artists selected through the jury sessions twice a year. FACTORY’s annual exhibitions
are consisted of such categories as FACTORY Emerging Artist Show, International Exchange Program, FACTORY Artist Show
and Contemporary Design Show.




프로젝트

갤러리 팩토리는 작품전시뿐만 아니라 공공미술 성격의 커뮤니티 프로젝트를 자체문화행사로 기획하고 있습니다.
효자동의 독특한 지역적 성격을 정리된 시각으로 보여주는 공공미술프로젝트를 주변의 타 예술관련 단체와 연대하여 기획할 예정입니다.
또한 매년 옥션 등의 행사를 기획해 예술전문가와 일반인에게 미술에 좀더 즐겁고 편하게 접근할 수 있는 기회를 제공하고 있습니다.

Art Project
FACTORY plans & executes both commissioned and self-initiative public art projects as well as community-involved art projects
with an aim to promote & further a discourse on contemporary art to a broader audience. Factory also provides art lovers in general
with a chance to get to learn and collect contemporary artworks in an enjoyable way via FACTORY’s annual auction/end-of-year-party.
