À̷μ­ Àü½ÃÀåÀº ÆÑÅ丮 »ç¹«½Ç·Î¼­ÀÇ °ø°£»ç¿ë°ú µ¿½Ã¿¡ Àü½Ã, ÆÇ¸Å, ¼öÀÍâÃâÀ̶ó´Â ±â´ÉÀ» ¼öÇà ÇÔÀ¸·Î¼­ °ø°£ÀÇ »ý»ê¼ºÀ» ±Ø´ëÈ­½ÃŲ ¸ðµ¨ÀÌ µÈ´Ù.


Synopsis
Lee Mi-Kyung's solo exhibition, "New Storage System for Factory," which is to be held from October 10 through November 2, 2008, displays the photographic materials the artist had taken on the storage system in the stores, and is going to create a new storage system for Factory. This storage system is open to the viewers and they can imagine everyday life at Factory furnished with this storage system.

Introduction of the Artist
Lee Mi-Kyung creates everyday objects we use such as a chair, a bed, flowers, and carpet, and then brings them into the exhibition space. Rather than revealing their sense of presence as works of art, these objects infiltrate into the exhibition space to create the environment appropriate for an exhibition or to work as tools for communication. Furniture is a favored item for the artist. Furniture becomes a stand or pedestal to display a piece of art, and at the same time, directs the everydayness of that piece just as a piece of furniture supports our daily life.

The Artist's Note
This exhibition is the result of my observation of daily life at Factory, which happens to be my neighbor. The premise for the exhibition was that compared with the exhibition space whose identity as a gallery is not so clearly defined, the office, which takes up one-fifth of Factory, is a highly productive space with excessive work load.
The business of Gallery Factory mainly concerns operations and exhibition planning of the gallery, and cultural planning and art administration as well. Most of the work done here is characterized as highly creative, productive, and value-added service which also requires a lot of tension. In order to extend this tense atmosphere to the ground floor too, I changed the whole space of Factory into an office.
I divided a big desk and drawers made for the director and one employee into desks of a minimum size on which a notebook computer can be used. Free lancers hired for a big project can work on these desks, which can be rearranged to one big-size desk for the director later. During the exhibition, visitors can experience the furniture being used in Factory and purchase an item they like. Therefore, the exhibition space is able to serve as a model which maximizes the productivity of the space by being used as an office and functioning as a space for display, sale, and profit-making.
